Any stain on your brand new white carpet can be aggravating, but coffee stains need special action to prevent them from leaving unsightly and permanent stains. The trick is to treat the stain as quickly as possible to remove it from your carpet more easily. Here are some brisk carpet cleaning steps to help you remove coffee stains from white carpets.

Apply a Mild Detergent Solution on the Stain

Mix some dishwashing detergent into a spray can filled with water and mix it thoroughly until froth starts to form. This indicates that the detergent has blended well into the water. Spray this solution over the coffee stain immediately and blot gently with a paper towel or lint-free cloth to absorb the stain. Keep blotting the stain until you notice it lightening. This carpet cleaning step should lighten the stain considerably.

Apply Some White Vinegar Over the Stain

Now that you have managed to lighten the coffee stain on your white carpet, dampen the lint-free cloth with some white vinegar and blot over the stain gently. White vinegar contains acetic acid, which can cut through the stain from the carpet surface and eliminate it completely. Keep in mind that you should blot the stain and not rub it–– rubbing will cause the stain to spread out further on to your carpet. You may need to repeat this carpet cleaning process a few times until it takes full effect.

Rinse With Cold Water

Since vinegar has a slight odour, you'll want to rinse the stained carpet area with cold water to remove the vinegar completely from your carpet. Spray the cold water generously on to the stained area and gently dab it with a clean and dry lint-free cloth. Your coffee stain should have completely disappeared from your white carpet by now.

Speed Up Your Carpet Drying Process

White carpets are especially prone to dust and dirt accumulation, so speed up your carpet drying process by using a hairdryer. This will ensure that the stained area doesn't get soiled once again before it has had a chance to dry –– especially when you have pets and children running around the place. Use the hairdryer for as long as possible to ensure that the stained area dries. Alternatively, if you allow your carpet to dry naturally, make sure that the room is well ventilated and don't let anyone near the wet carpet area until it dries completely after a few hours.

These speedy carpet cleaning steps will ensure that your brand new white carpet is free from coffee stain blemishes.
